CASTLETON, Vt. - Kaylyn Crompton reeled in another weekly honor, this time being named the Eastern College Athletic Conference Division III New England Women's Cross-Country Runner of the Week for the week ending on Sept. 11.
Crompton completed the Castleton Invitiational in a time of 20:15, which placed her first out of 47 runners. The rookie led the entire race from start to finish, while also beating last year's winning from SUNY Canton by 12 seconds. Crompton led the Spartans to a second-place overall finish out of seven competing teams.
Crompton has earned back-to-back Rookie of the Week honors from the North Atlantic Conference, and has now been recognized by the Eastern College Athletic Conference. She has led all runners to the finish line in the first two races of her freshman season.
Crompton and the Spartans will return to action at 12 p.m. this Saturday, Sept. 17 at the UMASS-Dartmouth Invitational.
