Spartans Wrap Up Season with 47th-Place Finish at NCAA Regionals

WATERFORD, Conn. – The Castleton women's cross country team finished 47th overall at Saturday's NCAA Division III New England Region Cross Country Championship hosted by Connecticut College.

The Spartans finished with a team score of 1337, coming in just a couple spots back from North Atlantic Conference opponents New England College and UMaine-Farmington. Williams won the event, posting a team total of just 44 while placing four runners in the top ten.

Haley Kennedy led the Spartans, finishing first for her team with a time of 25:40 in the six-kilometer event. Molly O'Callaghan finished just behind Kennedy, crossing the line at 25:51. Elizabeth Bassette finished third on the team, coming in with a time of 26:09 for Castleton.

Caitlin Ryan (26:55) and Miranda Messeck (27:02) rounded out the Spartans' top five, while Dilan Clements (27:46) and Allie Minor (28:04) also ran in the event for Castleton.
