Women's Volleyball Swept at Plymouth State

PLYMOUTH, N.H. – The Castleton University women's volleyball team dropped both ends of a doubleheader at Plymouth State University Saturday, falling first to the Panthers before dropping the nightcap to MCLA.

Castleton falls to 7-17 on the year overall and 0-7 in Little East Conference play, while Plymouth State sits at 29-2 overall (6-1 LEC) and MCLA is 17-8. Castleton fell 25-10, 25-4, 25-10 to Plymouth and 25-18, 25-13, 25-23 to MCLA.

Madison Hamelink led Castleton with 12 kills on the day, 10 of which came against MCLA. Bre MacDuff added 27 assists and eight digs in two matches, while Meghan Zawatsky had eight digs against MCLA. Gabrielle Carpenter and Lizzie Goodrich had four kills each against MCLA, while Ellie Frischmon had four kills against Plymouth State.

Castleton wraps up its season Saturday, Nov. 2 at 6 p.m. with a home match against UMass Dartmouth. A brief senior day ceremony will be held prior to the contest.
