CASTLETON, Vt. – Junior Amanda Chambers helped the Spartans to a 2-1 record last week with some impressive defense and was honored as the North Atlantic Conference Defensive Player of the Week for her play.
Chambers was all over the court, averaging 5.20 digs and 2.0 kills per set while hitting over .310 in two of three matches. The junior opened the week with 13 digs, seven kills, and two blocks in a 3-0 win over Cobleskill. The outside hitter followed up that performance by hitting .357 with seven kills and 11 digs against Colby-Sawyer, becoming the first NAC opponent since 2011 to hit over .300 with at least six kills and ten digs against the Chargers. Chambers finished off the weekend with a career-high 28 digs, two blocks, and six kills against Green Mountain in a 3-1 win.
