Spartans Travel To Lyndon State For Dual

CASTLETON, Vt. – The Castleton University women's tennis team heads out on the road for their final two matchups of the regular season, in search of a return trip to the North Atlantic Conference championship. During 2016, the Spartans fell in the first round of the postseason tournament to eventual champion Colby-Sawyer College.

Fresh off NAC Women's Tennis Player of the Week honors, Kirsten Kruk leads the Spartans into Lyndonville, Vt. Earlier in the year, Castleton thumped Lyndon State 9-0 at home to extend its current winning streak over the Hornets to four.

In that contest, the Spartans dropped just two games overall in the match, including zero in singles play.

Castleton is led by former NAC Women's Tennis Player of the Week, Megan Nadler who is currently 10-1 individually in 2017. Meanwhile, she is 8-3 in doubles play.

The aforementioned Kruk is now 5-4 in singles and has won three in a row, while she is also 7-3 with her partners Ciara Bannister and Nadler.

Danarose Weaver, Alexis Curley, Emily Miller and Bannister all look to continue their personal winning streaks in solo play as they are currently at one, three, three and two, respectively.

Women's tennis wraps up the regular season on Saturday as they travel to Johnson State for a 1 p.m. dual match.
