CASTLETON, Vt. – The Castleton University women's tennis team rebounded with a resounding 8-1 victory over North Atlantic Conference rival Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts. Castleton improves to 5-4 and 2-1 in the league, while the Trailblazers fall to 2-3 and 2-2 in the conference.
Castleton swept through doubles play to take an early 3-0 edge. Team teams of Ciara Bannister and Kirsten Kruk, Emily Miller and Megan Nadler and Lauren Reck and Alexis Curley each took down their respective opponents by a score of 8-2.
In one-on-one play, the Spartans swept second through sixth singles. Nadler (8-1), Kruk (3-4), Miller (4-4) and Weaver (5-2) dropped one game, while Curley (3-2) surrendered two.
Women's tennis returns to action for a weekend conference doubleheader beginning at 1 p.m. on Saturday against Husson. Continuing at 11 a.m. on Sunday, Castleton plays Thomas.
