TROY, N.Y. – The Castleton University women's tennis team dropped its second-straight road contest by a score of 8-1 to the Sage Colleges on Sunday afternoon. Castleton falls to 4-4 on the year, while Sage moves to 5-1.
Following a pair of close losses at first and second doubles, Castleton earned its lone point on the afternoon in second singles.
Megan Nadler rebounded from her first loss of the year on Wednesday to improve to 7-1 on the season. The sophomore played a flawless match, defeating her opponent in straight sets 6-0, 6-0.
Elsewhere, Kirsten Kruk played three tight sets, before succumbing. After dropping the opener – 6-4 – she rebounded to take the second by a 6-3 tally. In the final set, her opponent was too much as she collected a 10-5 win.
Castleton returns home to play the Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts at 4 p.m. on Tuesday.
