Women's Tennis Drops Just Two Games In Victory

CASTLETON, Vt. – The Castleton University women's tennis team was ruthless on the way to a shutout 9-0 victory over the Lyndon Hornets on Saturday afternoon at the Castleton Courts.

Women's tennis dropped just two games – of 63 played – throughout the entirety of the match while earning three victories via forfeit.

In singles, the Spartans did not surrender a single game. Ciara Bannister rolled to a 6-0 and 3-0 lead before her opponent retired. At second, Megan Nadler improved to 5-0 in singles on the year with a double bagel win.

Kirsten Kruk and Emily Miller dealt out a pair of bagels each. The duo at third and fourth singles cruised to 6-0, 6-0 wins.

Nadler and Kruk began the day by showing their dominance with an 8-0 win at first doubles. Following this, the second doubles team of Alexis Curley and Lauren Reck earned an 8-2 win.

Castleton returns to the courts for its first road contest of the year at 4 p.m. on Tuesday. The Spartans travel to Green Mountain College for a matchup that will also be the first conference game of the year.
