Women's Tennis Releases 2017 Slate

CASTLETON, Vt. – The Castleton University women's tennis team released its 2017 schedule on Wednesday afternoon. It features five home contests to open the slate, before the Spartans head out on the round.

Competition begins on September 1 as Castleton welcomes Johnson State College for a 4 p.m. matchup. Following an 11 a.m. bout with Plattsburgh State on September 3, the Spartans face Green Mountain College and Plymouth State at 4 p.m. on September 5 and 7, respectively.

Wrapping up the season-opening home stand, Castleton takes on Lyndon State at 3 p.m. on September 9. It will be the first of eight conference battles throughout the year. With a 4 p.m. match at Green Mountain College on September 12, the Spartans begin their travel for three straight contests. The following day, they head to Colby-Sawyer with another 4 p.m. start.

Breaking up the conference slate, Castleton heads south to face The Sage College at 1 p.m. on September 17. Returning home at 4 p.m. on September 19, the Spartans welcome the Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts.

Back-to-back league matchups against Husson University and Thomas College (Maine) highlight the weekend of September 23. Matches will commence at 1 p.m. and 12 p.m. on each day, respectively.

Castleton finishes its regular-season schedule with two league matches on September 27 and September 30. First, the Spartans head to Lyndon State at 3:30 p.m. before making the journey to Johnson State at 12 p.m. on the respective dates.

The North Atlantic Conference Championships will be held at Colby-Sawyer College's Kelsey Courts on October 7. Utilizing head-to-head league records, four teams will face off for the title beginning with semifinal matches in the morning.
