Schenectady, N.Y. - The Spartans fell at Union on Wednesday, losing 9-0 to the Dutchwomen in a non-conference match against a top-tier team.
Union was dominant at every flight, and did not allow the Spartans any more than three games in any set. Meghan Susslin and Sara Novenstern were the most competitive pair, falling 8-3 to Union's top doubles team. In singles play, every Spartan struggled, with each singles player falling victim to at least one 6-0 set. Olga McIntyre got off to a fast start at third singles, but was eventually stifled falling 6-3, 6-0.
Castleton falls to 4-7 on the year, but remains undefeated in conference play. They will take on Northeast Athletic Conference foe Colby-Sawyer, the defending conference champions, on Saturday in New London, N.H.
