Women's Alpine Cruises to Victory at Proctor Ski Area

ANDOVER, N.H. – The Castleton University women's alpine ski team continued its dominance in 2019 on Saturday, taking six of the top 10 spots in the slalom en route to its seventh consecutive victory to open the year at the Proctor Ski Area.

The Spartans finished with a team time of 4:55.20, more than eight seconds ahead of second-place Brown University, which finished at 5:03.92. The University of Connecticut finished third at 5:14.77.

Karoline Rettenbacher topped the field with a time of 1:36.08, just five hundredths of a second ahead of Brown's Alexa Dannis. Li Aunes finished third overall with a time of 1:39.40, while Linn Ljungemo finished fourth with a time of 1:39.72.

Ellie Frischmon clocked in with a time of 1:40.29 for a fifth-place finish, followed by Kirsten Kruk's sixth place finish with a time of 1:41.31. Kylie Mackie rounded out the top-10 finishers for the Spartans with an eighth-place time of 1:42.39.

Castleton returns to the slopes on Sunday for the second of two slalom races.
