SEAFORD, N.Y. – The Castleton University women's rugby team dropped a 97-15 contest against Molloy College at Cedar Creek Park on Saturday afternoon. Castleton falls to 0-4; still in search of the programs first ever win, while Molloy improves to 3-1-1 during the 2017 season.
After Molloy started the game scoring the first 59 points, Castleton got on the board via a successful Savanah Graves try with 3:28 left in the second quarter. The ensuing conversion attempt was unsuccessful.
Autumn LaPlant notched the second Spartan try of the afternoon with time running out in the third quarter before Julia May followed suit toward the end of the fourth. With 50 seconds remaining, May notched a successful try.
Women's rugby returns to action at 1 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 15 as they welcome LIU Post to Alumni Field.
