BOSTON – Hannah Rose of the Castleton University women's ice hockey team has been selected as one of 19 athletes to be named to the 2017-18 New England Hockey Writers Division III All-Star team.
Pioneering Castleton to a 13-win year including an 8-5-1-conference record, Rose was a crucial component of a frequently short-staffed defense. The Kenora, Ont. native deflected, blocked and absorbed a multitude of shots, keeping the Spartans in front or within striking distance in nearly every contest.
Joining five other defensemen, Rose led the Spartans from the backline throughout the season. Primarily acting a facilitator with a team-leading 16 assists, the senior captain earned Most Valuable Player honors for the second consecutive season.
Rose also notched her fair share of goals, collecting five to bring her career total to 29 alongside her 36 career assists and 65 points in 107 games played. Each of the previous statistics will cement her legacy in the record book.
Also earning 2017-18 New England Hockey Conference All-First Team honors, Rose will add the most current acknowledgement to a long list of accomplishments during her Spartan career.
