PAWTUCKET, R.I. – Brooke Raiche has earned Little East Conference Player of the Week accolades for the second time this season, as announced by the league office on Monday afternoon.
Raiche had a monster week for the Spartans, leading the team to a 2-1 record in a full slate of LEC games. She averaged 21.7 points and 6.7 rebounds per game while adding 2.0 steals per game on the defensive side of the ball. She was an efficient 22-of-42 from the field, good for a 52.4 percent rate on the week, while knocking down 4-of-10 from three and 17-of-21 free throws. The sophomore guard guided Castleton to a Tuesday road win at Eastern Connecticut, dropping 26 points on 9-for-15 shooting while making 3-of-4 from three. She scored each of Castleton's final 15 points in the contest as the Spartans closed out the Warriors, 59-48. On Thursday, Raiche went off for 30 points at Keene State, leading Castleton to an overtime win on the road, 57-45. She shot 10-of-19 from the field while knocking down 9-of-11 at the line and added five rebounds with three steals and two blocks in the win. In Saturday's matchup against UMass-Dartmouth, Raiche scored nine points and pulled in seven rebounds while registering three steals against the LEC-leading Corsairs. She currently ranks among the LEC's leaders in scoring with 16.9 points per game.
Raiche earned Castleton's first weekly honor of the season on November 19, and makes it back-to-back weeks with the Spartans claiming the award after Alexis Quenneville was named Player of the Week last Monday.
Castleton returns to action on Wednesday night at Rhode Island College with a 5:30 p.m. tip-off.
