Plymouth State 11, Castleton 1 (5 innings)
For the second consecutive day, the Spartans stumbled out of the gates in game one, allowing the Panthers to cross the plate six times in the top of the first. Madison Harris and Nora Butler each hit an RBI single while Mel Goss was hit by a pitch and Jen Landers walked with the bases loaded.
Goss hit a solo home run to make it 7-0 in the third.
Castleton got on the board in the fourth with a single run. Calli Van Gorden got the Spartans' first hit with a clean single to left. Miranda Fish hit a single one batter later to put runners on second and third where Tori Swaine reached on an infield error to score a run.
Plymouth State added three tallies in the fifth to surpass the run-rule limit and complete the scoring.

Jamie Boyle singled to open the second inning before Arjavich and Wright hit back-to-back doubles for a pair of runs. Two batters later, LaPan lined a single to right center to give the Spartans a 3-0 edge.
The Panthers tied it all at once in the third on a three-run home run by Harris. Debra Morrill hit a one-out single before Cassidy Emerson walked to set up the blast.
In the bottom of the fifth, consecutive singles by Devin Millerick and Boyle followed by an infield error on a ground ball through the shortstop by Arjavich gave Castleton a one-run lead.
