    For the second time this season, Castleton University softball freshman infielder, Miranda Fish, has been named the Little East Conference Rookie of the Week for the week ending April 21.

    Tori Swaine knocked in the winning run in the bottom of the fifth with a double to the wall in left-center field to cap a doubleheader sweep for the Castleton University softball team over Middlebury on Monday as the Spartans hosted the Strike Out Cancer Games. Castleton edged the Panthers, 5-4, in the opener before an 11-10 comeback win in the nightcap
  • Wright Navigates Softball to Narrow Win in Opener Against Colonials

    Kylie Wright pitched 11 strong innings in the circle and Machaila Arjavich hit her first career home run for Castleton in a doubleheaders split with Western Connecticut State on Friday. The Spartans held the lead and won the first game, 4-2, before the Colonial bats came alive in an 8-1 nightcap.
  • Softball to Host Strike Out Cancer Games

    The Castleton University softball team will host its annual Strike Out Cancer Games in association with the Southwestern Vermont Medical Center and Making Strides of Southern Vermont with a common goal of raising awareness and funding for cancer research. Castleton will dedicate its April 22 games versus Middlebury College to the cause.

    The Castleton University softball team scored 39 runs in a doubleheader sweep at Bay Bath on Tuesday in non-conference action. The run total was the highest in a single day since a 41-run explosion on April 13, 2016.

    The Castleton University softball team dropped a pair of conference decisions at Keene State on Thursday. The Spartans couldn’t hold two late leads in a 5-4 eight-inning thriller before losing in five innings, 11-3.

    The Castleton softball team dropped a pair of non-conference games at nationally-ranked Rensselaer on Wednesday. RPI won 13-5 in six innings in game one before snuffing out a late Castleton rally and taking game two, 6-5.

    The Castleton softball team opened its Little East Conference schedule by suffering a sweep to UMass-Dartmouth on the road on Sunday. The Corsairs took game one, 3-0, before coming back with a 4-2 triumph in game two.

    The Castleton softball team swept the first Little East Conference Softball Athletes of the Week list for the week ending March 9. Calli Van Gorden was named Player of the Week, Miranda Fish earned Rookie of the Week honors, and Kylie Wright garnered Pitcher of the Week recognition.

  • Softball Wins Two Games, Third Game Suspended

    NORTH MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. - The Castleton softball team secured wins over Penn State-Schuylkill, 8-1, and Hilbert, 7-3, on Sunday. The third game versus Wentworth was suspended due to a power outage and rain with the Spartans holding a 7-2 lead in the top of the fourth inning.
