Castleton, Vt. - The Spartans will look to continue their winning ways when they travel to UMass-Dartmouth on Saturday, Sept. 21 for the UMass-Dartmouth Invitational.
Castleton has placed first as a team in both of its past two events, grabbing the top spot in the Castleton Invitational two weeks ago, and again at the Mountaineer Invitational last weekend. Senior Isaac French has not only been the Spartans' top runner, but has been the overall winner in both races as well.
The Spartans' top five finishers has remained the same throughout all three of their events this season. Behind French, Steve Hagemann has finished as the second Spartan in all three races. Third to fifth for the squad has been a toss-up between three harriers. Sophomore Matthew Woodward, freshman Jonah Lavigne, and newcomer Nick Tubolino have all jostled back and forth for the third through fifth spots.
The squad will look to continue improving upon its impressive year as it gears up for more championship meets in the near future. The UMass-Dartmouth Invitational is scheduled to begin at 11:15am with the women's race, with the men's race to follow at 12:00pm.
