Men's Indoor Track and Field Competes at LEC/New England Alliance Championships

PLYMOUTH, N.H. – The Castleton men's indoor track and field team finished eighth at the Little East Conference Championships as part of the New England Alliance Championships at Plymouth State on Saturday.

Tayler Larmie accounted for four of the team's six points with a fourth-place finish in the weight throw with a toss of 14.38 meters (47'2.25"). The throw met the regional-marker. Larmie will represent Castleton at the NCAA Division III New England Regional Feb. 22-23 at MIT.  

Also in the throwing events, Caleb Davidson competed in both with two top-20 finishes. The sophomore was 18th in the shot put (11.45 meters, 37'6.75") and 19th in the weight throw (11.75 meters, 38'6.75").

Ryan Barry was sixth in the 60-meter dash (fourth in the preliminaries) in 7.38 seconds. Connor Kukla also competed in the 60-meter dash, where he placed 22nd.

The 4x200-meter relay team of Barry, Kukla, Dakota Garrow, and Joseph Ouimet checked in ninth in 1:38.48.

Ouimet also competed in the pole vault, placing 14th with a height of 3.35 meters (10'11.75"). Caleb Lisai represented the Spartans in the high jump with a 17th-place finish at 1.60 meters (5'3").  

Southern Maine claimed the team title in runaway fashion with 231 points. Plymouth State (99 points), UMass Dartmouth (84 points), and Eastern Connecticut State (74 points) battled tightly to follow. Keene State rounded out the top-five with 49 points.
