Garrow and Barry Surpass Own School Records for Men's Track and Field at Middlebury Invitational

MIDDLEBURY, Vt. – Dakota Garrow and Ryan Barry both improved on their own school records to highlight the Castleton men's indoor track and field performance at the Middlebury Invitational on Saturday.

Garrow shaved over three seconds off his time in the 500-meter run to place fourth in 1:12.74. Barry narrowly edged out his previous record in the 60-meter dash by .01 seconds with a third-place time of 7.27 seconds in the field of 23 sprinters.

Barry also led the Spartan fleet in the 200-meter dash with a 14th-place finish in 24.16 seconds while Garrow was 19th in the 60-meter dash in 7.92 seconds.

Tayler Larmie launched a New England Regional qualifying toss of 14.39 meters (47'2.5") to place third out of 15 in the weight throw. Ben Forte rounded out the Spartan effort in throwing events with a 14th-place finish in the shot put with a distance of 10.69 meters (35'1").

In the pole vault, Joseph Ouimet was eighth after clearing a height of 3.20 meters (10'6").

Castleton also ran a fleet of 10 athletes in the 60-meter dash with Canute Watson (13th, 7.70), Rudy Ryan (15th, 7.81), and Ouimet (15th, 7.81) leading the flock following Barry.

Castleton will return to action at the Panther Invitational on Saturday, Feb. 2 at Plymouth State. The meet is set to commence at 11 a.m.
