Men's Track and Field Performs Well at Dartmouth Relays

HANOVER, N.H. - The Castleton men's indoor track and field team opened its 2018 slate on Sunday, competing in the Dartmouth Relays at Leverone Field House.

Facing competition against all NCAA divisions, Tayler Larmie led the Spartans on the afternoon with a 12.96-meter heave in the weight throw to place 15th overall. Freshman Brodie Talbot came in 17th place with a throw of 12.64 meters.

Morgan Rainville led Castleton in the shot put, covering a distance of 12.76 meters to place 22nd overall. Larmie and Talbot finished with distances of 12.11 meters and 11.43 meters to place 29th and 31st overall, respectively.

Ryan Barry was the top Spartan finisher in the 60-meter dash as he placed 33rd with a time of 7.49 seconds, just off his personal-best time of 7.30 seconds. Canute Watson finished with a time of 7.79 seconds, while John Wederman crossed the line with a time of 8.28 seconds. 

Castleton returns to action next Saturday, Jan. 13, to compete in the Middlebury Classic.
