Men's Track and Field Places Four on NAC All-Conference Team

CASTLETON, Vt. – Four members of the Castleton men's track and field team were named to the North Atlantic Conference All-Conference Team, as announced Monday by the league office.

Grandon Smith, Tayler Larmie, and Austin Beauregard highlighted the Spartan honorees after each taking first place in their respective events at the NAC Championship.

Smith set a new meet record in the 800-meter run, taking first overall with a time of 1:59.37. Smith entered the New England Championships in the 800-meter run, where he finished just off the pace of his program-record time of 1:56.99 that he set earlier this season.  

Larmie led a strong throwing core all season for the Spartans, continuing his dominance in the hammer throw with a first place finish at the conference championship. The sophomore set a new meet and program record in the hammer with a distance of 41.45 meters to earn All-Conference honors for the second consecutive season. Beauregard also earned a first place finish for the second year in a row, clocking in at 17.20 seconds in the 110-meter hurdles to earn All-Conference honors. 

Ryan Barry
led Castleton in the sprints, taking second overall at the NAC Championship with a time of 11.63 seconds in the 100-meter dash to earn All-Conference honors. Barry enjoyed a strong sophomore campaign, as he set a new indoor program record in the 200-meter dash before landing All-Conference honors for the first time in his outdoor season career.  

Senior Matt Donlon was named to the NAC Men's Track and Field Sportsmanship Team, which is an award reserved for those who have distinguished themselves through demonstrated acts of sportsmanship and ethical behavior. The honorees are individuals who have positively affected the track and field culture and environment and whose behavior clearly demonstrates sportsmanship and integrity that go beyond the competition rules and etiquette.
