Smith Tabbed NAC Track Athlete of the Week

CASTLETON, Vt. – After setting a new program record in the 800-meter run to qualify for the New England Division III Championships, Grandon Smith of the Castleton men's track and field team has been named North Atlantic Conference Track Athlete of the Week, as announced Monday afternoon by the league office.

Smith clocked in at 1:56.99 to place third overall in the distance race, while eclipsing his own previous school record for the second consecutive week by just over a second. The junior's new personal-best time ranks him 31st in New England, as the regional championships will be held on Saturday, May 6, at Williams College.

This marks the first time in Smith's career he has been named NAC Track Athlete of the Week. To view the full NAC weekly release, click here.
