LAKE PLACID, N.Y. – The USCSA National Championships continued Wednesday at Mt. Van Hoevenberg, as the Castleton University men's Nordic ski team participated in the Classic sprint event.
The Spartans were led by two top-20 performances, as Devin Perry finished in 19th place, close to his finish in the freestyle sprint event at last year's national championships in Bend, Ore. David Harvey finished right behind Perry in 20th place, 10 positions higher than his freestyle sprint placement last season.
Keegan Cummings was the next Castleton skier in the individual standings, finishing in 42nd place, followed by Devin VanBockler in 44th place, Jared Wheeler in 48th place, and Thomas Rizza in 50th place.
Tyler Radtke of St. Olaf College won the individual event, with Mitchell Hollman of Air Force finishing in second place. Western State University of Colorado took the team title with 25 points.
The USCSA Nordic National Championships will resume Friday, March 9, with the 15-kilometer Classic event, scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. for the men.
