Men’s Nordic Ski Team Completes Mansfield Divisional Championships

BENNINGTON, Vt. – The Castleton University men's Nordic ski team finished in fourth place in the team standings as the ECSC Mansfield Divisional Championships concluded Sunday morning at Prospect Mountain.

For the second straight day, David Harvey was the top finisher for Castleton, crossing the finish line in 12th place with a time of 16:58 over the five-kilometer course. Keegan Cummings was next for the Spartans, finishing in 33rd place with a time of 22:20.

Peter Michelsen posted a time of 23:12 to finish in 37th place, and Thomas Rizza crossed the finish line in 40th place with a mark of 24:35.

Thomas Clayton of the University of Vermont won the event with a time of 15:24, helping the Catamounts remain at the top of the team standings with 25 total points over the two days. Clarkson finished second with 31 points, followed by Cornell with 61 points, Castleton with 79 points, and Paul Smith's College with 115 points.

Castleton will head to the Ethan Allen Biathlon Center in Jericho, Vt., next weekend, Feb. 18-19, for the ECSC Regional Championships as the Spartans attempt to qualify for the USCSA National Championships for the second consecutive year.
