WATERVILLE, Maine – For the second time this season, sophomore goalkeeper Brandon Myron has been named the North Atlantic Conference Men's Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week, announced Monday by the league office.
Myron made a career-high 16 saves and allowed just seven goals, including only two goals after halftime, as Castleton defeated Mount Ida College last Friday, 12-7. Before facing the Spartans, the Mustangs had won their first four games of the season, averaging 14.5 goals per game during that stretch.
Myron has played all but two minutes in net for the Spartans so far this season and is currently second in the conference with 53 saves and fifth in the league in save percentage at 50.0 percent. Myron was previously named NAC Defensive Player of the Week two weeks ago after collecting 14 saves against Plattsburgh State in his first career collegiate start.
Castleton (2-2) hosts Plymouth State at Spartan Stadium Tuesday, March 21, starting at 4 p.m.
