ST. GEORGE, Vt. – The Castleton men's golf team came away with a top finish in its first event of the season today, winning the Johnson St. Invitational at Rocky Ridge Golf Course with a team score of 317.
Zach Temple led the way, shooting a one-over-par 73. Temple fired off a two-under 34 on the back nine en route to the low round of the day. Luke Salerno finished tied for second on the day with a 78 to enter the clubhouse at +6. Jacob Erwin (T7) and Jon Benson (T18) rounded out the scoring for Castleton with rounds of 81 and 85, respectively.
SUNY Canton took second on the day, finishing with a team total of 326. Norwich was in third place, with a score of 335, while Cobleskill had two teams finish back-to-back in fourth and fifth place. Johnson St., MCLA, Paul Smiths' and Green Mountain rounded out the field.
