Three Men's Basketball Players Earn NABC Honors Court Accolades

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Three Castleton University men's basketball players have been honored by the National Association of Basketball Coaches for their excellence in the classroom, as Julian Santos, Ben Mrowka and Igor Almeida were named to the NABC Honors Court Wednesday afternoon.

To be named to the NABC Honors Court, individuals must meet a high standard of academic criteria. Student-athletes must be academically a junior or senior and be on a varsity program; must have a GPA of 3.20 or higher; must have matriculated at least one full year at their current institution; and must be a member of an NCAA Division I, II, III, or NAIA Division I or II institution with an NABC member coach.

Santos and Mrowka, 2019 graduates of the men's basketball program, were both two-time recipients of the award, while Almeida earns the honor for the first time. The trio were the only players in the Little East Conference to receive Honors Court recognition from the NABC.
