KANSAS CITY, Mo. – For the third year in a row, the Castleton University men's basketball team has earned the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Team Academic Excellence Award, as announced by the organization Thursday morning.
Castleton has earned the recognition four times in the award's seven-year history. To be recognized, a team must post a 3.0 cumulative grade point average among all players who competed during the 2018-19 season.
Castleton was the only team in the Little East Conference and the only team in Vermont to earn the award. In total, 149 institutions were honored across all three NCAA divisions, the NAIA and the NJCAA.
