Wells Named LEC Field Hockey Offensive Player of the Week

PAWTUCKET, R.I. – Sarah Wells of the Castleton University field hockey team was named Little East Conference Field Hockey Offensive Player of the Week for the week ending Sept. 23.

Wells continued her impressive senior campaign by contributing two goals and three assists totaling seven points in a 2-0 week for the Spartans. She assisted on all three goals in a 3-1 win over Colby-Sawyer on Wednesday before scoring twice in a 4-2 win at Eastern Connecticut State on Saturday.

Through seven games this fall, Wells leads Castleton with five goals and three assists for 13 points. She is in a tie for fourth in the LEC in points, and second in shots with 39.

The Spartans (5-2, 3-0 LEC) share the conference lead with Keene State (7-1, 3-0 LEC) and Worcester State (4-3, 3-0 LEC). Castleton will host Plymouth State (2-4, 2-2 LEC) on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
