Field Hockey Earns NFHCA National Academic Team Award

CASTLETON, Vt. – The Castleton University field hockey team earned the 2016 ZAG Field Hockey/NFHCA National Academic Team Award, as announced Thursday morning by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association. 

The Spartans were one of four North Atlantic Conference programs to be honored. The National Academic Team Award recognizes institutions that achieved a team grade point average of 3.0 or higher during the first semester of the 2016-17 academic year.

Swarthmore College led all Division III field hockey programs with a cumulative GPA of 3.72, followed by Mount Holyoke and Springfield each with team GPAs of 3.68.
