Football Tickets, Tailgating & FAQ

Pricing is as follows:

General Admission: $7
Reserved Bleacher: $10
Reserved Center Bleacher: $15 (Section 4, Rows A-H)
Reserved Stadium Seat: $25
Tailgating Pass: $20/pass

Tickets may be purchased online or at the ticket booth at Spartan Stadium two hours before kick-off on game days

General Admission bleacher seating is available in the North end zone, while natural seating is available on the West side of the field as well as the North and South ends of the stadium.)

Student Tickets:

Students are entitled to one free ticket with valid student ID. Student tickets can be picked up at the Castleton Store from Monday-through-Friday during the week leading up to each home game or at the ticket window of Spartan Stadium prior to kick-off.

How can I purchase tickets?
Single Tickets can be purchased online or at the Spartan Stadium ticket booth two hours prior to kick-off on game days. All reserved tickets can be picked up at the Will Call window two hours prior to kick-off. For more information, please contact shieldsociety@castleton.edu.

Where can I park?
Parking is available in campus lots on the East side of South Street and the Jeffords Science Center, as well as the tailgating lot adjacent to Spartan Stadium.

Can fans tailgate?
Tailgating is only allowed in the lot adjacent to Spartan Stadium. Tailgating tickets are $20 for the Spartan Stadium Lot and should be purchased in advance. Charcoal grills, glass bottles, and “common containers” are prohibited. Tailgating begins three hours before the game and will cease at game time. No alcoholic beverages are allowed in the stadium. There is no tailgating after the game. For the complete tailgating policy see below

Is there seating for fans with disabilities?
Spartan Stadium is ADA compliant. There is space for wheelchairs at the top of the stadium seats. Fans with disabilities may be dropped off at the stadium, with handicap parking available in the lot adjacent to Spartan Stadium.

Is First Aid available?
First aid is available by visiting the ticket booth.

Can I bring a cooler into the stadium?
No coolers are allowed in the stadium. No alcohol allowed. Bags may be checked.

Is food available?
There are plenty of food options available at Spartan Stadium, including Roxie's French Fries!

Can I bring a lawn chair into the stadium?
Only stadium-style chairs will be allowed in, all other free-standing chairs will not be allowed to pass through the gates.

Can I bring my pet to the game?
There are no pets allowed inside Spartan Stadium. Service animals are allowed.

Are the games televised?
All home games are webcast through the Northeast Sports Network. A link to the game can be
found here.
For fans in the Rutland area, the games are simulcast on PEGTV, Channel 20.

TAILGATING POLICIES

1. Tailgating is limited to the Spartan Stadium Lot
Tailgating and consumption of alcoholic beverages are PROHIBITED in ALL OTHER LOTS.

2. Tailgating Fees
$20.00 per spot.

3. Tailgating may begin three (3) hours before kick-off
Tailgating activities will cease at game time. Tailgating and consumption of alcoholic beverages are PROHIBITED at any time after kick-off, including after the game’s conclusion. The parking lots must be emptied no later than one hour after the game has ended.

4. Appropriate Behavior and Language
Tailgaters must be respectful of those around them and mindful that all students are subject to policies in the Castleton University Student Handbook. Everyone is subject to the Vermont State Law, as well as the rules and regulations of Castleton University and the Castleton University Athletic Department.

5. No glass or "common containers"
For safety considerations, all tailgaters should use cans, plastic cups or plastic bottles. “Common containers” such as kegs, party balls, etc. ARE PROHIBITED.

6. Grills
For safety reasons, gas powered generators are not allowed. Propane and gas grills are permitted, not to exceed a 10-gallon tank per vehicle. Charcoal grills ARE PROHIBITED.

7. Miscellaneous
Indoor use furniture such as couches and sofas ARE PROHIBITED in the parking lots. Only portable radios/stereos that do not need an external power source may be used. Volume, language, and content of music must be appropriate for all ages.

8. Clean Up
Waste food items and trash must be disposed of in the appropriate containers that are provided on the grounds. Any violations of this policy may result in termination of tailgating privileges and criminal prosecution and/or action taken through the Castleton University Public Safety Office, the Castleton Police or the Vermont State Police Department.
