CASTLETON, Vt. - With a 12-4 conference mark, Husson enters the upcoming North EasternAthletic Conference East Division baseball tournament as the top seed and will host the three day, double-elimination tournament beginning Friday, April 29.
Husson (12-4 NEAC East, 24-15 overall) will take on fourth seed Maine-Farmington (4-12 NEAC East, 5-22 overall) in game 1. Second seed Castleton (12-4 NEAC East, 18-17 overall) and third seed Thomas (9-7 NEAC East, 12-22 overall) will meet in game 2.
The Eagles split the four game regular season series with second seed Castleton and earned the right to host the championship due to pre-determined tie-breaking procedures. The top four teams qualify for the NEAC East Division Championship with predetermined tie-breaking procedures used to seed the tournament field. Game times are subject to change.
Beginning with the 2010 season, North Atlantic Conference (NAC) members Castleton, Husson, Lyndon St., Maine-Farmington and Thomas began play in the North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) as associate members in the East Division. Each division will hold a championship and the two divisional champions will meet for a three game series to determine the conference champion. The conference winner will earn an automatic bid to the NCAA Division III Championship.
