14 Spartans Earn LEC All-Academic Accolades

PAWTUCKET, R.I. – Following the completion of the 2018-19 winter athletic seasons, 14 Castleton University student-athletes were named to the Little East Conference All-Academic Team for their performance in the classroom.

To be named the LEC All-Academic Team, a student-athlete must be at least in sophomore standing in the classroom, have a cumulative GPA of 3.30 or higher through the previous semester, and have been at their current institution for at least one full academic year.

Women's basketball, men's basketball, and women's track and field each had four representatives on the All-Academic Teams, while men's track and field had two student-athletes earn the accolades.

Katlyn Toomey was one of just five winter student-athletes from the LEC and one of two LEC women's basketball players to earn a 4.0 GPA, while teammates Brooke Raiche, Abbie Lesure and Alexis Quenneville also earned spots on the All-Academic Team.

Denis LeCours, Harrison Williams, Richard Walker and Ben Mrowka earned the accolades for the men's basketball program, while Ryan Barry and Rudy Ryan were named to the All-Academic Team for men's indoor track and field.

Ashley Darrell, Ally Stearns, Lydia Maier and Emily Maier were the recipients for women's indoor track and field.
